As one of his responsibilities at University of Texas System, Carlos directs the Entrepreneurship Network, a UT System Board of Regents’ initiative that seeks to enhance innovation and entrepreneurship across UT’s 14 institutions. Additionally, he has co-founded startups, managed operations for Purdue University’s first venture fund, and researched the impact of institutional environments on investment. Carlos received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.B.A. from Purdue University, M.S. in Engineering & Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University and a Dual-Ph.D. in Engineering & Public Policy and Technological Change & Entrepreneurship from Carnegie Mellon University and Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics.
