Head, SBIR/STTR Education Applications and Technologies
Glenn Larsen joined the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 1987 as the computer systems engineer for NSF’s Directorate for Engineering. In 2005 he joined the Division of Industrial Innovation and Partnership (IIP) as a program director for the Industry/University Cooperative Research Centers (I/UCRCs). Since 2011, he heads the NSF SBIR/STTR program for Education Applications and Technologies. Larsen’s entrepreneurial experience includes retailing, software services, computer manufacturing, new home construction, subdivision development, and physical fitness facilities. As a lifelong learner, he holds several professional certifications including the Project Management Professional (PMP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), and Master Business Coach (MBC). His degrees include the Ph.D. and MBA; and he has authored several books on computer graphics and computer operating systems selling over 300,000 copies which were later translated into Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish.
