Mr. Daniel Shepard assumed duties as Chief, Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Cybersecurity TCX, Engineering Directorate, Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), on 11 January 2015.

In this role, Mr. Shepard leads the TCX in promotion of cybersecurity awareness and provides technical services related to ICS cybersecurity for military construction (MILCON) projects; sustainment, restoration and modernization (SRM) projects; and operations and maintenance (O&M) efforts. The TCX supports USACE and external organizations in the development and review of ICS acquisition packages, ICS inventory and facility audits, and the development, review and oversight of Risk Management Framework (RMF) execution in accordance with Department of Defense Instructions. The TCX also assists USACE Headquarters with the development of policy, standards and regulations related to ICS cybersecurity.

Mr. Shepard has served in many capacities within the Information Technology and Cybersecurity arenas. Mr. Shepard has an extensive background and technical expertise in supporting Cybersecurity initiatives related to Tactical Weapons Systems, Model and Simulation Systems, Threat Representative Training Systems, and HQ Level Information Assurance Program Management activities.

Prior to his assignment at Huntsville Center Mr. Shepard served other government civilian roles within the Department of the Army as the Installation Information Assurance Manager and Chief, Information Assurance Policy Branch Network Enterprise Center-Redstone Arsenal, AL., and as the HQ US Army Aviation and Missile Command, Chief Information Officer/G6, Command Information Assurance Manager.

Mr. Shepard is a native of Huntsville, AL, US Navy Veteran, DOD Acquisition Workforce Certified in the career fields of Information Technology (Level III), Program Management (Level I), and a Member of the Army Acquisition Corps. Mr. Shepard holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Management from Columbia College, Columbia, MO.
