National Aviation Intelligence Integration Office (NAI2-0)
Kenny O’Neal is Chief of Staff of the National Aviation Intelligence Integration Office (NAI2-O). He was assigned to NAI2-O in August 2015 to assist in standing up the new entity. NAI2-O fulfills the Director of National Intelligence’s (DNI) responsibilities in promulgating policy and guidance for aviation intelligence integration and improved information sharing. It develops, sustains, and strengthens a unified Intelligence Community (IC) enterprise that supports federal, state, regional, local, tribal, territorial, private sector and foreign partner entities to promote a seamless architecture that provides intelligence relevant to threats as well as insights on the capabilities and intent of terrorist groups, state and non-state actors, and criminal elements that may threaten and/or use the Aviation Domain against the interests of the U.S. and its partners. He was previously the Director of Advanced Requirements, 25th Air Force National Intelligence Coordination Cell, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), Texas.
His service in the U.S. Air Force spanned from 1980 until he retired in 2003. While on active duty, he served as a cryptologic linguist, a technical training instructor, an operations superintendent at the squadron and wing-level, a major command career functional manager, and as an RC-135 Airborne Mission Supervisor. A wide array of military assignments included overseas tours in England, Korea, and Okinawa as well as tours at Goodfellow AFB and JBSA, Texas where he simultaneously served as the 67th IOW Operations Superintendent and as the first Air Combat Command Airborne Cryptologic Linguist Career Functional Manager.
Prior to assuming his initial civilian Department of the Air Force position as Chief, Operations Plans and Programs, Air Intelligence Agency, Lackland AFB, Texas, he was the Syracuse Research Corporation-Rome Operations Manager, Griffiss Technology Center, Rome, New York.
Kenny’s numerous awards and medals include the Meritorious Service Medal with a silver oak leaf cluster and Air Medal with silver and bronze oak leaf clusters. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Government & Political Science from the University of Maryland, a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from American Military University, and is a graduate of the U.S. Air War College.
