Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Program Manager
Mr. Mark D. Flohr is a Physical Scientist and the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Program Manager for the Chief Scientist Office (J9CE) for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and the USSTRATCOM Center for Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction (SCC-WMD), located on Fort Belvoir, Va. DTRA/SCC-WMD safeguards America and its allies from weapons of mass destruction (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high explosives) by providing capabilities to reduce, eliminate, and counter the threat, along with mitigating its effects.
Mr. Flohr has supported the Chief Scientist Office since October 2012. Prior to this he was assigned to support the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Defense Programs (ASD(NCB)) where he managed planning, development, production and delivery of the Counterproliferation Program Review Committee (CPRC) reports to Congress from 2004 to 2013. The CPRC reports are interagency products of the Intelligence Community and the departments of Defense, Energy, State and Homeland Security regarding technology and capabilities for Countering WMD threats.
Mr. Flohr earned a Master of Science in Physics from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.
