Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Program Manager

Nicole Fox serves on the staff of the Army Research Office (ARO) in Durham, NC as ARO’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Program Manager. She has held this position since August 2011. In this capacity she coordinates all aspects of ARO’s participation in the SBIR/STTR Programs of the Army and other Department of Defense (DoD) agencies. Prior to assuming her current role, Ms. Fox served from 2001 through 2005 and again from 2010 through 2011 as the Program Specialist for the Army STTR program. During her years of service, she specialized in reviewing and recommending improvements to program management processes, including topic review and selection, proposal evaluation, and contract award strategy and execution, and in helping firms participate in the programs. She currently performs these functions and also manages topic development
processes, coordinates all aspects of program administration with DoD Program Mangers, oversees the proposal evaluation process, and conducts debriefings with proposing firms. Additionally, she promotes technology transition and commercialization activities, to include
utilizing SBIR phase II enhancements, SBIR/STTR sequential phase IIs, deploying technical assistance to current performers, and producing success stories, to include commercialization brochure publications.
