Cognitive training for driving using interactive video
|AFFILIATION:||Hotpathz, Inc., Santa Rosa, California, United States|
Track: Medical & Biotech
Tech Readiness: TRL 6
Tech Brief: Seniors, teens, people with neurological conditions, and returning combat veterans may experience cognitive overload when processing roadway information, putting them at risk for crash. Our driver training and rehabilitation app uses interactive videos to train the brain to identify critical items similar to driverless car technology, thus reducing cognitive overload.
Value Proposition: Returning combat veterans are 75% more likely to be involved in a fatal crash in their first six years post deployment. The cognitive processing skills that serve them well in theater put them at a disadvantage for civilian driving. Our cognitive training app built around driving is designed to improve the safety of veterans and their families. The app is also useful for training novice drivers with neurological conditions such as autism and experienced drivers that may have suffered a stroke or traumatic brain injury.
