Tech Brief: This technology allows anyone to operate miniature fixed wing UAVs easily. Fixed wing UAVs can be used for reconnaissance by soldiers, and have much more endurance than rotorcraft UAVs, but are also much harder to fly. The proposed technology makes it easy to fly them, even without training


Value Proposition: Aerial reconnaissance at the squad level is critical to avoid ambushes and to extend the capabilities and autonomy of soldiers. Quadcopters/rotorcraft UAVs can provide this reconnaissance, but these UAVs are heavy, noisy, and have low endurance. Fixed wing UAVs are much more stealthy and portable, though they hare harder to fly, specially in turbulent weather conditions, even by experienced pilots or well calibrated autopilots. Their domain of operation is highly restricted. Our value proposition is (1) to expand the capabilities of fixed wing UAVs without adding any weight, cost or complexity to them, allowing a truly portable localized reconnaissance drone that can be flown even by inexperienced soldiers (2) improving the operational capabilities of the squad by allowing fixed wing UAVs to be reliably flown in severe weather conditions (3) the technology does not bring additional restrictions to the use of UAVs, which can still be flown reliably in GPS denied environments
