Tech Brief: Sierra Energy's FastOx® gasifier converts waste into clean, low-carbon fuels to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and offset fossil fuels that would be needed to create the same amount of energy. Therefore, FastOx gasifiers produce net carbon negative electricity and fuel.
Value Proposition: FastOx gasification is incredibly important domestically in our national pursuit of reducing foreign sources of fossil fuels by securing a sustainable source of baseload power. More importantly, FastOx gasifiers have the potential to revolutionize the way we handle waste and energy production at forward operating bases. FastOx gasification systems have a small enough footprint to be modularized and sent to forward operating bases to handle waste. Due to the high temperatures achieved in the gasifier, these systems can handle any waste stream including medical waste, municipal waste, and electronic waste. This reduces the footprint of forward operating bases and eliminates the need to transport this waste to costly local facilities. This reduces the risk and resources associated with transportation to and from dangerous and remote areas. Current waste disposal regulations also require that hazardous waste such as medical waste and electronic waste must be handled by local contractors. Locating and monitoring these contractors is costly and often ineffective. Minimizing this cost helps to streamline military operations and reduce our environmental impact on local communities.
