Tech Brief: Pression’s technology is a generational leap in the delivery of compression therapy for rehabilitation and wound management, supporting monitored home treatment, increased patient compliance, better patient outcomes, and reducing healthcare cost. Our new, feedback-driven compression technology integrates wearable electronics and intelligent algorithms to provide comfortable, effective, and individualized treatment.
Value Proposition: Pression Inc.’s Second Heart IPC device addresses common barriers to compression therapy use, which result in poor patient outcomes and increased healthcare utilization. Second Heart replaces devices that are uncomfortable, variably effective, and take a one-size-fits-all approach, with a device that is comfortable, effective, and individualized. The Second Heart’s feedback driven design delivers a compression solution that is customizable to individual users to maximize comfort and adapts to the wearer’s physiology to ensure reliably effective treatment. The Veterans Affairs’ (VA) primary goal is to improve the quality of life for Veterans by enabling their independence and facilitating quality health care. Pression’s Second Heart IPC device fits the VA mandate by addressing these goals and more through innovation in individualized home health care for wound healing and PVD control. Our product is designed to easily slip on, be comfortable to wear during even long treatment plans, continually monitor the patient’s physiology for remote medicine reporting, and adapt to the user automatically. Second Heart increases patient compliance via independent administration of treatment without compromising effectiveness. Medical staff can monitor a Veteran’s progress remotely and upload new compression protocols, thus reducing the number of hospital visits for routine monitoring and protocol calibration.
