TECHNOLOGY:

Reconfigurable Conformal Imaging Sensor (RCIS)

AFFILIATION:   ChemImage Sensor Systems, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States

TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY

Track: Defense Systems
Area: Sensor Systems
Tech Readiness: TRL 4

Tech Brief: RCIS is a portable widefield HSI staring sensor for standoff threat detections of moving targets or while on the move. Dual Polarization permits real-time threat detections at the camera frame rate, and the Conformal Filter uses compressive sensing and transmission of multiple optical passbands to discriminate targets versus complex backgrounds.

Value Proposition: The RCIS has both CONUS and OCONUS applications, allowing warfighters and security personnel to sense and detect explosive residues, emplaced IEDs, HME production facilities, surface contaminants, and even illicit drugs. The DP/CF technology, along with enhanced algorithms, will have the capability to assess moving and stationary targets, while stationary or on the move. The RCIS will enable the reduction of US military and civilian casualties due to IEDS, as well as the identification of terrorist and/or enemy combatants and bomb making facilities.
