Tech Brief: Our membrane based process cleans up raw biogas into clean renewable natural gas from sources such as landfill gas and gas produced from anaerobic digestion of wastewater sludge, agricultural waste, food waste, and other organic matter.


Value Proposition: Though there are a number of biogas separation technologies deployed today, such as pressure swing adsorption (PSA), water wash, and amine wash, Air Liquide’s membrane technology achieves high CH4 recovery (>95%) and separates the CO2 and O2 in one step, rather than multiple. The small-scale skidded solution, designed for flows as low as 100 scfm, is suitable for use at military bases or semi-temporary sites, as the skid can be relocated. The renewable natural gas produced from the process has a variety of uses such as vehicle fuel for CNG vehicles, for power production, or feedstock to produce other products, such as hydrogen (through steam methane reforming). Thus a complete waste-to-fuel process can be achieved.
