ESP-DLux(tm) Automated UVC Light Biosecurity System

AFFILIATION:   Elevated Health Systems, LLC, Wichita, Kansas, United States

Track: Medical & Biotech
Area: Infectious Disease
Tech Readiness: TRL 6

Tech Brief: The ESP-DLux(tm) pairs industrial strength UVC light with multiple sensors and a user-friendly wireless computerized controller. Its elegant design allows it to automatically sanitize air when a room is occupied and disinfect surfaces/air whenever the room is empty, with continuous documentation of functionality.

Value Proposition: Throughout the DoD, infections can disrupt the efficiency and success of critical missions. In civilian life, an outbreak of diarrhea among co-workers usually has no long lasting effects; however, the same outbreak among an infantry can lose a battle. Infection prevention is a priority in the military because it is recognized as a force multiplier. The emergence of deadly new pathogens makes disease prevention more important and challenging than ever before. Whether the facility is a research center, submarine, barracks, or medical facility, military professionals are working near each other and are at risk of infection. Continuous biosecurity hygiene consisting of three steps: isolation, traffic control and sanitation, has never been more urgently needed. The ESP-DLux™ allows users to respond to an infectious breach with speed and accuracy; with the press of a button, an area can change from Level 1 to a Level 4 biosecurity, isolating the threat. Using the UVSentry™ function, entryways have germicidal traffic control. Using the Scheduling feature, facilities are disinfected with precise dosages of UVC during times of non-occupancy and then sanitized continuously, utilizing the power of germicidal light, paired with sensors to protect occupants from incidental exposure.
