Tech Brief: The Jellyfish JL20 is a 20kW ocean wave harvesting unit designed to absorb waves and turn those into usable energy. It will be installed at a wave energy site in the Philippines by FirstGen, our utility partner. It can be equipped with a reverse osmosis module to produce drinking water.
Value Proposition: The Jellyfish technology can be used in concert with primary power generation systems of the Department of Defense installations or as a backup to those systems. It is a sustainable energy source which in theory can work in remote locations where wave energy is available and on islands that have strategic importance and require military presence. It is scalable to 1 MW but bigger in size, and can be adjusted to any energy generation needs. It is expected that the device will be easy to manufacture, install, operate and maintain because the technology is considered relatively simple and reliable.
