As KCNSC seeks to mature its additive technologies in metals and polymers, the Advanced Engineering Simulation and Analysis (AESA) group seeks to also mature its own modeling capabilities to help support product and process engineers responsible from materials and products developed with additive manufacturing. Enabling technologies like Topology Optimization (TO) are giving engineers at KCNSC to ability to design lighter prototypes and fixtures that are optimized for their design requirements.
